Interdisciplinary meeting in summer 2026

The interdisciplinary meeting of Nobel Laureates will be held from 28 June to 3 July 2026.

More than 50 Nobel Laureates and about 600 highly talented young scientists will get the chance to join a unique week of scientific exchange, inspiration, and networking in lectures, panel discussions, and small-scale discussion sessions.

Who can apply

The European Commission is offering a limited number of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) fellows the opportunity to participate in the event.

Selection criteria

The call for applications is open to both current (you should have commenced your fellowship by 1 September 2025) and past MSCA fellows, including master, doctoral students and young postdoctoral scientists.

The fellow should be working at the intersection of at least two Nobel disciplines (physics, chemistry, and physiology or medicine) or at the intersection of one Nobel discipline and another discipline from the social or natural sciences.

In addition to these criteria, the review panel of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate meetings will select participants among the candidates using its own selection criteria.

Please make sure you comply with all the criteria before applying.

Secure your own funding

Neither the MSCA nor the Lindau Nobel Laureate Committee is offering financial support to travel or fees for the event, only the opportunity to attend.

Applicants must ensure that they have the funding necessary to meet their own share of the costs of the event. This will amount to €1.250 (attendance, accommodation and meals), plus travel costs. Your organisation and/or your MSCA project must pay the related costs, plus travel costs.

We recommend that you get a confirmation from your organisation that these costs will be met at the appropriate time (March/April 2026).

Should you be selected and not able to meet the participation costs, your place will be lost and no other MSCA fellow will be able to benefit from the opportunity.

How to apply

The application process to seek a nomination from MSCA to attend the Lindau meeting is a two-step procedure.

First stage

Submit the following information via the application form

  1. We will need a limited amount of personal information. Please consult the privacy statement at the end of the form for more information.
  2. A statement of motivation (maximum 250 words) explaining briefly why you think participating will be beneficial for you, your research, your career, and your organisation (if relevant).
  3. Two individual letters of recommendation in English (roughly one A4 page each) in a PDF file, which should
    1. include a description of your achievements
