Developing talents, advancing research

Published:  31 Oct 2024

Science is Wonderful! hits the road – first stop: Ireland!

Applications are now open for MSCA fellows and alumni to meet thousands of school pupils from across Ireland at this unique science fair in Dublin.

Science is Wonderful! is the annual science fair organised by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). It invites EU-funded researchers from around the world to come to Brussels and explain their work to children and youngsters.

In 2025, Science is Wonderful! will expand beyond Brussels for the first time. Starting with a special event in Ireland at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE) – the world's largest and longest-running school science exhibition. BTYSTE will take place from 9 - 11 January 2025 and will offer a vibrant platform for thousands of pupils from across Ireland. They will experience science in action in an engaging and dynamic atmosphere.

Your time to share

Are you a MSCA fellow or alumni passionate about your work? Ready to share it with the most curious little audience you will ever meet?

We are seeking 2 or 3 passionate local teams of MSCA fellows and alumni who are willing to inspire students by demonstrating their research at the European Commission’s booth.

Whether you can join us for one morning or the full three days, your participation can help spark curiosity and excitement through live experiments, games, and other creative formats. You’ll have the chance to get together with future scientists, share in their enthusiasm and inspire a new generation of researchers.

We will not be able to cover travel or accommodation expenses. However, you will be rewarded  with unique gifts and lasting recognition for your valuable contribution to this exciting initiative.

Submit your proposal

The deadline to submit your proposal is 17 November 2024

What’s in it for you?

In addition to great visibility, we’ll provide you with everything you need to showcase your work – plus MSCA goodies to mark the occasion! And since Science is Wonderful! takes to the road for the first time, we have an extra surprise in store for all participating researchers.

Since we can’t cover travel or accommodation costs, we encourage applications from local teams or those who can use their own travel allowance. Lead researchers should be MSCA fellows or alumni, but you’re welcome to bring along non-MSCA teammates – from technicians and students to senior researchers.
