The European Union will contribute to the success of Expo 2025 Osaka.
Millions of people from around the globe will visit Expo Osaka to discover how nations and regions worldwide are addressing the global issues of our time, including sustainability, connectivity, inclusivity and security.
The European Union (EU) will contribute to the success of Expo 2025 Osaka with a nice pavilion and arrange of interesting activities. The theme is Nurturing Tomorrow.
About the EU pavilion
The EU pavilion will showcase its commitment to these themes through immersive installations inspired by the New European Bauhaus – principles of aesthetics, sustainability, and inclusion.
The EU’s presence will not only highlight the strong political, economic, and sociocultural ties it shares with Japan but also emphasise the importance of scientific cooperation. It will also show how research and innovation shape our daily lives.
MSCA at the EU Pavilion
Several EU-funded projects, including two Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) projects will be featured at the Expo during specific thematic weeks, presenting groundbreaking scientific achievements, innovative solutions, and cutting-edge technologies. Some of the projects will also be highlighted through avatars in the EU pavilion’s permanent exhibition.
Health and well-being thematic week
20 June 2025 - 1 July 2025
The MSCA-funded Nature-In explores the connection between post-war Danish buildings and traditional Japanese buildings, where the interior space is closely connected to nature.
Through this study, a MSCA-supported fellow explores how to better integrate nature in interior spaces and create a catalogue of sustainable nature-inclusive devices.
The Nature-In session will take place on 20 - 21 June 2025.
Peace, human security and dignity thematic week
1 August 2025 - 12 August 2025
The MSCA-funded QSI is training a world-class cohort of doctoral candidates in cybersecurity, working towards a “Quantum-Safe Internet” - a communication infrastructure that is secure against both classical attacks and quantum technology enabled attacks.
