The Summit’s topics focus on the development of talent and future-proof skills in line with the priorities of the European Year of Skills.
Pupils, students, researchers and life-long learners need to be equipped with the skills matching the present and future needs of their ecosystems - particularly green, digital and entrepreneurial skills.
Empowering researchers for innovation
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions was present at the Summit with the breakout session “Empowering researchers for innovation” (14:00-15:30 CEST).
It focused on the support available at EU level for researchers at different stages of their careers to
- better leverage their capacity for innovation in their research activities
- give them career development opportunities in academia and industry
The session explored different types of support that can be provided for researchers, such as
- dedicated training
- access to funding
- intersectoral mobility
- experiences within collaborative projects
The speakers
- discussed how the support they have received has contributed to the quality and impact of their research and their career development
- shared the challenges they have come across
- shared lessons learnt from their experience that could lead to structuring changes in higher education and research institutions to better prepare and empower researchers for innovation
