Co-funding available to Japanese researchers for staff exchanges under MSCA

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is supporting Japanese researchers participating or willing to participate in MSCA Staff Exchanges with funding under two of its schemes.

Japanese organisations are not automatically eligible for funding under Horizon Europe. The “Bilateral Research Projects” and “Core-to-Core Program” schemes will provide additional funding to successful organisations involved in Staff Exchanges projects to boost research and innovation exchanges.

Similar arrangements are also in place with countries such as Canada.

Applications closed for “Bilateral Research Projects”

The JSPS accepted applications for the Bilateral Research Projects scheme from the beginning of June until the beginning of September 2022.

Applications open for “Core-to-Core” programme

The “Core-to-Core” programme is currently open for applications. All the information is available on the JSPS website. The deadline for applications is 3 October 2022.

Japanese researchers will not automatically be eligible for JSPS funding just because they were selected for MSCA Staff Exchanges. They will be reviewed on the same basis as other applicants who are not participating in the scheme.
