Quavers to Quadratics

Quavers to Quadratics offers primary school children the opportunity to play with ideas common to science and music.

The children are led in their play by undergraduate students from music & science, who work closely with the children’s teachers.

The online version of our programme involves fun videos, hands-on class activities, e-visits from the undergraduates to schools, and planning sessions between undergraduates & teachers.

Within Quavers to Quadratics, children think about how musical instruments make sound, why they are different shapes and sizes, and how they might go about making their own instruments.
