Turn your smartphone into a 3D microscope
Participants will learn how 3D microscopes work and how they are used in biomedical research. The main task is to setup a 3D microscope using a smartphone and generate 3D images of gummy bears and marbles.
The specific objectives are to:
- Learn about different types of (bio)medical imaging techniques for imaging at different scales (from single cells to whole humans).
- Learn how tomographic imaging modalities work and how 3D images can be generated from pictures taken around objects.
- Setup a 3D microscope using a LED light and smartphone to take MANY pictures!
- Learn how to use computer programs to generate 3D images from the pictures.
