About Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)

The MSCA are the European Union’s flagship funding programme for doctoral education and postdoctoral training of researchers. They are part of Horizon Europe.

With a budget of 6.6 billion for the period 2021-2027, the MSCA support

  • career
  • skills development
  • mobility

of researchers at all stages of their careers and from all over the world

The MSCA does this by funding and co-funding excellent doctoral networks (half of MSCA budget), postdoctoral fellowships, and Research & Innovation staff exchanges with a focus on international, inter-sectoral (between academic and non-academic organisations) and inter-disciplinary cooperation.

The programme funds bottom-up research in all fields based on scientific excellence and competitive funding. It is open to both academic and non-academic organisations and to excellent researchers from all over the world.

It promotes excellence and sets standards for high-quality researcher training and working conditions in line with the European Charter for Researcher.
