Tipping Point Ahead (TPA)
Provides videos and blogs made by young, enthused climate scientists working at different Dutch research institutes. Through brief and punchy movie clips, the scientists discuss their research on our changing climate.
Each researcher explores their specific climate change topic, outlining why it matters and why they became interested in it. The videos are aimed to inspire and engage the next generation of teenagers in Dutch high schools.
TPA also provides an evolving set of educational materials about different climate change topics, from extensive modules to brief exercises. In addition, every year Tipping Point Ahead organises educational days for (Dutch) educators interested in teaching about climate change.
Currently there are four Tipping Point Ahead teaching modules available. Each module covers a climate change topic that is related to specific teaching subjects (e.g. Geography, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry).
The TPA modules consist of different chapters where teachers can either highlight parts or teach the entire module as a whole. The Tipping Point Snacks aim to briefly introduce a climate change topic for pupils using an exercise sheet intended for an assignment of 15 to 20 minutes.
Tipping Point Ahead is the outreach programme of the NESSC climate science research programme.
